about THE COMPOUND
THE COMPOUND is an ongoing audio play created by Douglas Williams, started in February 2021 during the lockdowns of the global coronavirus pandemic. Doug wrote the script, performs all of the characters’ voices, and also wrote the theme song which plays at the end of every episode.
Doug was raised on his dad’s collection of Firesign Theatre albums, a troupe of surrealist comedians who created radio theater in the 1960’s and 70’s. They are one of the many inspirations for this project. Doug also has a passion and fascination for the Great Basin, a vast desert and mountain region found mostly in Nevada and Utah. Other inspiration came from Doug’s eclectic musical taste. Music heard throughout the play is credited below.
